If you will be joining us on Wednesday and want to speak, here is what you need to know to speak effectively. Please use these as guidelines. Remember the most important voice is your own!

City Council Chambers
3rd Floor, Cincinnati City Hall
- Arrive at 5:45 p.m. to sign up to testify (Clerk will have cards)
- You will have TWO MINUTES to testify – keep it brief and focused – notes help - you may submit a written copy of your statement
- Committee chair will call you by name when your turn comes
- Introduce yourself: Give your name (and maybe another detail: Owner of a business; company you work for)
- Let them know the neighborhood where you live (if Newport, KY or another part of the region, great! Tell them that this is a regional issue and that what Cincinnati does affects the whole area).
- Mention groups you belong to, if any (e.g. Mobo, Cincinnati Cycle Club, Bike Newport, Queen City Bike, Sierra Club, Clifton Town Meeting or other neighborhood group, Citizens for Civic Renewal, regular citizens welcome, too!)
- Explain why you ride – commuting, shopping, running errands, health, recreation, better for the environment, to save money, etc. --- OR ---- Why you don't ride! - feel unsafe, no good routes for bicycles, etc.
- Tell them where you ride or would like to ride in the city – Mention neighborhoods, street names, routes, and destinations. If you ride anywhere along or across the I75 corridor, be sure to say that!
- What would help you use your bicycle for more trips instead of a car?
- bike lanes (on which streets?)
- safer routes to school
- safety training
- a secure place to park your bike
- a livable neighborhood closer to where you work
- or?
