Bike Art Show: a collaborative art show celebrating bike month

Opening Night will be Friday, May 8, 2009 from 6-9pm

Redtree Gallery and Park + Vine are actively looking for fresh new and exciting art for this collaborative show. Artists work may be selected for one or both locations.

THEME
Bike Art Show: a collaborative art show celebrating bike month. There are no specifics other than the work must tie in with the bike theme in some way. “Artists are (not required but) encouraged to showcase art that honors a relationship with nature, demonstrates environmental challenges, and utilizes reclaimed, recycled and natural materials.”

ELIGIBILITY
Artist must be 18 or older and may be living anywhere in the United States. We will consider work in oil, acrylics, mixed media, pastel, watercolor, drawings, graphics, photography, sculpture, as well as a limited number of installations or conceptual pieces. All artwork must have been created in the last year and not have been exhibited previously at Redtree Gallery. Work must be completely dry and ready to install.

SUBMISSIONS
A non-refundable fee of $20 for 1-3 pieces or $35 for 4-9 pieces must be submitted with artwork. Make checks payable to Redtree.

Hand Delivered artwork and entry forms may be dropped off at any of the scheduled times:

Friday, April 17, 2009 from 8am-6pm
Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 8am-6pm

Mailed artwork and entry forms must be received by April 18, 2009 (NO EXCEPTIONS)

Mailed artwork must include an envelope/container for return shipping, with return postage and mailing labels included. Container must be adequate for return shipping.

NOTIFICATION
Artists will be notified of jury results by email (please make sure this is printed clearly on your form. If you do not have email we will call you) no later than Saturday, April 25, 2009. Hand delivered artwork not selected may be picked up Monday, April 27 or Tuesday, April 28 anytime between 8am-6pm. Mailed work not accepted will be returned the following week.

LIABILITY
Each work is insured to a reasonable amount while turned over to the care of Redtree and Park + Vine. Artists are responsible for insuring work while in transit. Artist are also responsible for providing work that is sturdy and durable for necessary hanging purposes.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Redtree and Park + Vine reserve the right to photograph works for publicity and record.

Entering your art work in the competition shall indicate agreement with all of these terms and conditions.
