Washington D.C. is beginning a bike sharing program. This program, called "SmartBike D.C." is a self-service bike rental program that uses technology to let subscribers access the nearest bike.
Imagine if you wanted to take the bus to work and ride a bike home, or you are out walking or shopping 2 miles from home and need to be home in 15 minutes to start dinner. Bike sharing seems like a great idea for a flexible, carless lifestyle. My only question is: where are the helmets?
