The National Ride of Silence Wednesday May 21, 2008

The Cincinnati Cycle Club will be sponsoring the National Ride of Silence, to Fountain Square, starting a multiple locations throughout the City. We will join cyclists worldwide in a silent slow-paced ride in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.

Why do we sponsor The Ride of Silence?

  • To HONOR those who have been injured or killed
  • To RAISE AWARENESS that we are here
  • To ask that we all SHARE THE ROAD

NORTH:

Tentatively scheduled to speak are:

  • Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune
  • Bike Lawyer Steve Magas
  • Cincinnati Cycle Club Member Kathleen Putnam

Each group will ride double file, silently, at a maximum speed of 12mph to Fountain Square. We ask that you wear a black armband to honor those we have lost, or a red armband to remember those riders who have been injured by an automobile. Please have lights on the front and back of your bike.

If you are unable to participate in any of the rides, we invite you to meet us on the Square.
