Meet our Resident guides, Mary Lou Isaac, Gus Janszen, Michele Gottschlich and Stiney Vonderhaar along with the Evendale Police Department Bike Patrol as they take you/your family & friends on a scenic ride through Evendale. This recreational ride is for all ages! The one-and-a-half mile round-trip route will not be difficult. So if your child can ride a bike, we encourage you to make this a family event.
During the ride, a stop will be made at Gorman Farm for a brief walk around the upper meadow led by Michele and Sandra Murphy for those interested in hiking. There is no better place for Earth appreciation than the overlook at Gorman Farm! Sandra will show some geographical sketches drawn by Stan Hedeen several years ago. The sketches characterize the area in front of the lookout during the age of glaciers. There will also be some drawings provided by the state geologist that show how the last two glaciers created some of the local landforms. It is truly a different perspective. Bikes will be watched over by Councilman Stiney Vonderhaar during the upper meadow activity.
Those who wish to continue on a more challenging four-mile ride can follow Gus and Mary Lou.
End the ride back at Baxter Park for a special treat!
[Thanks to Michelle Gottschlich for providing this information, and for all she is doing to promote biking in the Hamilton County suburbs.]
